Pre-pandemic, one of my favourite semi-regular events was a food tour of Kensington Market, which always included a stop at Golden Patty for a mild on coco bread. Well I’m happy to say that I no longer have to make the trip to TO for that, and this one was every bit as good. I stopped in at the curiously-named Aunt Jean Creams on Parkdale (across from the KFC that had literally 30 high schoolers waiting in line to get in) for lunch Friday, which had been on my list for a while. The patty was excellent, with a nice, crispy and flaky crust and flavourful beef filling. The coco bread was outstanding as it was super fresh and just the right amount of sweetness. I am not the adventurous sort and will stick to patty on a bun, but they’ve got lots of other entree and creams options. A worthy competitor in the quickly becoming saturated Caribbean food scene in the city -Mush
