After last night’s Ticats game, I just feel like taking a nice drive on country backroads and eating my feelings. Well I can do both of those at Burger Barn just down the road in Oshweken. Todd and I are both huge fans of western New York style stingers, and this is one of the only I know of in the area. It was a mountain of shaved beef, Buffalo chicken fingers and Monterey Jack cheese which complemented each other perfectly. The choice of ciabatta as the bun was curious; I think a sub bun would have held the delicious meat in a little better. And the fresh cut fries were perfectly cooked and plentiful. So take a drive, get your mind off the game and eat your face off on this crisp fall day. -Mush

I’ve been to two places now that focus on food and metal music and I think they’re both great. Pictured here is @slayerburger’s simple self titled cheeseburger with caramelized onions and cheddar cheese. In the background is Slayer, Slayer’s music and crinkle cut truffle fries. You can find Slayer Burger on Queen Street East in Toronto. For a more local option might I suggest Doors Pub: Taco Joint and Metal Bar? A house converted into a basement bar, upstairs live music venue and a great taco stop with metal rocking on the speakers your whole visit. I’m not even a big metal music fan but I love the ambience and atmosphere it brings. It’s unique, fun and they’ve got a lot of great brews as well. Worth a visit when they open tomorrow I’d say! -Todd
