My final post of my BBQ visits this week is of a new place called BBQ Bandits on Parkdale. This is a place still perfecting their craft, unlike the incredible @camp31bbq. I arrived with many people outside waiting on meals, there were a ton of orders on the board but not enough staff to handle the rush, everyone was behind by 20+ minutes and I had called in 60 minutes earlier. I have to give credit to them for being incredibly apologetic and I was understanding to their challenges. Advice to places that start to get overwhelmed, especially new ones, flip your delivery apps to unavailable so you can service your new customers with a star and manage their expectations as best you can when in a pinch. The food itself was pretty decent, especially if you’re into a heavy smoke flavour. The star of the game was the pulled pork which I served myself in the garlic bread as a sandwich. Ribs were tender but a little smokey for my liking. Wings were good, if you like smoked wings check them out. Finally Rodeo Fries, which are basically straight cut that taste like Arby’s curly fries so I was definitely a fan. As I said, it was busy, for good reason, prices are cheapest in town, food was decent but make sure you call ahead and hopefully they’ll have all the kinks worked out timing wise by the next time I swing by.
