For years Mush has been trying to convince me China Palace on Rymal is the best Chinese Food option in town. I think Hamilton’s Chinese Food still leaves a lot to be desired but I will give him this, China Palace is excellent if you like Mall Food Court Chinese Food, which I do. Great rice, a ton of it! Red sauce for beige items like chicken balls and breaded shrimp and lots of fresh bean sprouts but a crappy egg roll all found in my combo for one. This combo for one fed two of us and there were leftovers for lunch. So yes, they’re worth a try but I probably won’t ride that far out of my way again. What I did learn is that I should start experimenting with more of these combo for one options places have available as it’s a simple way to explore the menu with minimal financial commitment. I still say Wok Express is the best for this but let’s see what I find out over the next few months. -Todd

There’s certain places you can name in the city when running into a fellow Hamiltonian where you quickly learn they’re of the ilk that makes up Steeltown. One of those places is Mike’s Subs. With various locations around the city, they’ve been encompassing the hard working Hamiltonian’s lifestyle for decades. For me, a great sub features lots of protein, a fresh bun and quick friendly service. It’s an overall satisfaction package and we’re lucky to have so many places in town doing it right. Shout out to Mike’s Subs along with all our other hoagie hounds in town such as @speedysubshamilton, @mega_subs, @buddyssubsandgrill, Andy’s 2-4-1 and Duarte’s. That’s just to name a few of my favourites and say thanks for keeping me filled up on a budget and never giving me a reason to lean on Mr. Sub or Subway as an alternative. -Todd
